Problem starting
I just returned from classic car night at the beach. When I went to leave my car 66 mustang IL6 it would not start. I had power to the interior light but nothing happened when I turned the key. After a few minutes under the hood fumbeling with wires the car started and no problems. Can anybody shed some light about this problem
check your engine ground. i have a 66 with a 289 and it would sometimes pull the same thing on me. it wouldnt do it every time, but ther was enough of something on the cable where it hooked to the battery that when you wiggled the ground cable when it wouldnt fire up it would start like a champ[sm=gears.gif]
my ground cable felt like it was tight too. i pulled mine off the engine and cleaned the connection with emery cloth and super cleaned the battery post connection and havent had a problem sense. if it was the starter it would make a sound like it wasent kicking in or if it was stuck aginst the flywheel your motor wouldnt have turned over with out first moving the crank by hand or removing the starter all together
