Default Center Console

For the sake of the forum I'm gonna say I have a '67 Coupe.

Ok, I had the deluxe interior with the center console the runs up and joins the dash. it had a clock and a little slide open compartment.

Now that you know what I'm talking about, I need a new center console that is the same style but is ready for customization. I have seen a custom brushed aluminum-looking one in a magazine that was in a '67 vert. i love it. I have a new Ford 6-disc indash radio/cd player and I want to use it. The aluminized console will go good with my dash inserts.

Does anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? and if you do, does anyone have any more useful information?

I've seen what you're talking about. I don't feel like looking at CJPonyParts for one right now but you might want to try calling the people who built that magazine car if it was a shop.

FoRdBoY,

Mustang Connection is the place who makes that console (seen in the current M&F mag cover Stang). I have a 67 coupe with a bench seat and have been on a quest to get a console and KEEP my bench. Peter Faull at Mustang Connection is modifying a console for bench seat Mustangs. You can buy one off the shelf.

These consoles are based on the 68 Shelby reproductions he makes for Branda (68 Shelbys have wood-grain instead of brushed alum.). Give him a call/e-mail...you won't be disappointed.

Mustang connection makes these for 64.5-66 Mustangs as well.

I may be wrong but I believe that the Cougar had a console with a clock in it. I bought the clock on ebay, it is the same size as the main gauges on the Mustang.....I was thinking of putting it my 'stang since I have SW guages so that gauge is not being used.

I thought I'd share with you the console that is being made for me by Mustang Connection. Bear in mind that this will butt up to the center section on my bench seat. Bench seats come with a fold-down armrest, so I think this will look pretty natural.

This is just a prototype:

The finished console will be dressed out like this:

I had a 67 Cougar console in my 68 Mustang at one time. It did have a large clock in the center where the compartment would be on a Mustang. A Sun Super II tach would fit in that hole perfectly.

I believe they are in the $350-399 range...Mine is less since I won't have the glovebox portion.

You can get the console without the logo on the compartment lid/armrest...unless you want that Shelby look.
