Default New carpet

Having floor pans replaced in my 1970 fastback. Local body shop is doing. I stripped out old carpet before taking over. Planning on replacing carpet and insulation. right now just planning to order from NPD or CJ Pony had good luck with both. Just curious if anyone has any tips or maybe better source for carpet. Thanks

Bought my carpet from Virginia Classic Mustang. Great fit with very minimal need to trim. Also put down some "peal and stick" sound insulation to reduce noise....good luck!!!

Get the right Torx bit to remove the seat belts. Scalpal works pretty good for trimming but get sometin nice and sharp.

I used a box cutter with a new blade. Be very careful not to trim too much off under the dash until you get it all laid in and pressed into all the corners, etc. Make damn sure your floor pans have been prepped with seam sealer and primer and paint before you put the carpets down.
On edit: I forgot to mention to get new underlayment with the new carpet. The old one will most likely be trash, and you definitely need it for road noise muffling.

For better sound proofing you can use some sound proofing mats, I did my whole car this stuff is suppose to be better than dynamate and a lot cheaper. You need at least 100sq feet to do your car, but if you want to do everything including the roof you need at least 150 sq feet or 3 rolls. Here's a link for the cheapest I could find and getting it off of ebay is way cheaper than from there website.

If you installed it correctly, the carpet won't move with the new underlayment. Howerer, 3M makes a spray adhehive that works well.

I used 3M's rubberized undercoating under the carpet in my '71. I can't say if it reduced noise, but it will definitely protect from moisture (wet shoes, busted heater core[:@], etc.) I ordered mine from Mac's Auto Parts and had no problems with fitment. It did come with insulation attached and had the proper rubber pad under the pedals.
