What year, what model, what VIN, how did you get the car, and from where? You are going to provide a little more information.

Its a 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe
VIN: 6R07C178470
Al I know it was imported from the USA to The Netherlands (Europe) and then sold to the garage where i bought it from.

Yeah, you can get a Marti report and a factory invoice to know exactly what you have and where it was manufactured, but the history of who owned it prior to it being shipped to you may be a bit of a struggle to figure out. If you can get the city or even the state name where it came from, you can do a DMV search. But without that info, you are probably SOL.

I tried to get a free carfax but I got an error message about the VIN being too short. So I had a cop friend run it and it came back clean...thats about all the info I have so far, plus word of mouth about its accidents.

Word of mouth meaning what the guy I purchased my Mustang from said about the car, the accident it was in.

Edit: After re-reading my post above I realized it didn't make too much sense...I was talking about my car and I should have added in there isn't really any way to get the History of old cars, short of running the VIN and seeing what was factory installed.

short of decoding the vin and buck tag to find out the originality of your stang and what motor, trans, color, ect, was from the factory, your beat. that is if by history, you mean, accidents, repairs, driving style of PO. things of that nature. well, GL with everything and do enjoy it. it's a beautiful machine and worth the repairs, even if you have to learn to do them yourself!

Micheal,

I am pretty much in the same boat as you i recently brought a 65 mustang and have no real history with it other than it was imported this year to movie cars and the info from the vin number, Plus i belive it was came from california 909 telephone area, i found a piece of paper under the back seat for a photocoping firm there and the keys are from a shop with 909 on!! I would like to know if being out of the US the DMV in california would be willing to help.
