Default looking for cars

Okay, so I'm not going to buy a new old car (heh) in the imediate future. I'm just checkin out my options. Where do you guys go online to look for old mustangs? craigslist.org and ebay excluded. (Right now I'm looking for a 70-73 car at a resonable price I plan on buying one in the next year or so) Thanks guys.

How much you lookin to spend? I know of a 71 fastback with a 351C, numbers matching drivetrain that will be for sale next year. Would you like a car that is more like stock for 71 or a restomod, or maybe something like pro touring? it can go any way at this point..

I find my cars by looking in back yards as I drive around the country. I look in the local papers and trader mags, and always in the back line at dealers. The good ole boy network has gotten me a couple rides too. You know, a local board where someone knows someone else who has a car like you are lookin for.

If you go online and look, you are getting higher prices. Its sometimes better to find a car localy than online, at least in my case where I rebuild them anyway.

It would probably be a resto mod and sometime later in my life would probably get a beefed up engine, transmittion, suspension etc. But I'm a kid so ...I dont have much money [&o] Thats why I'll probably buy next yearish.

well we are currently working the one in my avatar. Building like it is in my minds eye, the asking price will be around $15-$20k. We could get it rolling, and let you finish the paint and a few other things, like interior for somewhat less. There is alot of new sheetmetal goin in that car. So far it cant leave for less than $8000, due to the parts already here for it and the work done.

Its a 71 fastback, 351C 2v freshly rebuilt with all new valvetrain and an XE274 cam. An Offy 4 barrel intake and a 700 Holley carb, new forged pistons, its been balanced and is a numbers matching block backed by an FMX trans and 3.50 geared 9" rear with posi. It was really rusty, so most of it is being replaced, but it will be a nice ride when its done. Originally green, but its getting a black interior and sunset orange metallic paint.

Just something to keep in mind, ok? I know how much money that is to someone in high school or college. Chances are it will be around here quite a while after its done. I post pics and info whenever we get more done on it, so just watch for nightmare references..

carsoup.com

Use the car detective function and it notifies you every time a car goes for sale on their site that meets your criteria. I have it sorting for 64 (okay I know there isn't officially a 64 but just in case some seller thinks that how the 64.5 should be listed) through 69 Mustangs, any location, any mileage, any price range (carsoup is not national but they cover a lot of the midwest and south). From April through June, I averaged a hit a week. In comparison, I get one 63-64 Impala SS a month...lots of Mustangs out there and that's a good thing.
