331 or 347, or the almighty 427 aluminum block with a dual quad set up.

 

Favorite engine is a 455 Super Duty, followed by a RA IV 400, then a 455 HO, then a regular 455, then 428,421 and 400s all of the Pontiac variety.

Favorite Fords are my Clevelands, then the FE's, then the Windsors. Seems like a well cared for 302 will live longer than most vehicles its in. Got one with over 240k on it in my F150.

After that I like 455 Olds and Buicks, and the Chrysler 383, 413 and 440 come to mind. My least favorite engines are Chevys and Hondas. hondas suck to work on and chevy just plain sucks, they aint that great, they just have a good aftermarket.

 

FE, 385, windsor

The FE is a torque monster that can rev. It is slightly smaller than the 385. The Windsor small block are good for screamers and economobiles.

 

351C

 

Depends on the application. 289's and 302's are very good engines for the 1st generation Mustangs. When the wide bodies came out, then the 351's were the work horses. If I wanted to put in any engine and had could make enough room in my engine compartment in my 65 it would be the Cammer.

 

My favorite engine is a Porsche Flat 6. That is some of the best engineering I've ever seen. I also love the 289's, 351's, and of course the 427.
