Default Rally Pack

I dont so much have a question as I want to know your guy's opinions. The lack of a tach in my car is really starting to bother me, but I just cant bring myself to mounting an aftermarket tack in the mustang, it would ruin it i think. I really like the way the rally pack looks, but im not about to drop the 600-800 dollars ive seen them go for. Is there a cheaper version, should i just tough it out, or do you guys think i should just mount a tach somewhere discreet?

Unless you've got the cash outlay, mount one discreetly. They do make them for aftermarket fits. Have you thought about a Shelby "Guage Pod"?
I understand they're cheaper than the Rally-Pac.

I went the Shelby style pod for my 65 2+2. It looks cool and you can still get the Shelby reproduction Tach. And better yet, it also has a spot for a Shelby reproduction oil pressure gage. Another thing my 65 didn't have. Whole set up was a few hundred bucks, including the paint for the pod. I love it!!!
Good luck.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Default Tach Install

If you decide to mount a tach, you might want to go with a "period correct" unit such as an old Sun SuperTach, Stewart Warner or even a Ford Rotunda. They can be found on EBAY and though sometimes a bit pricy, they do blend with the style and period of the car when mounted on the steering column.

Cool, other than ebay, do you guys know where i can find the shelby style pod. I really wouldnt mind having the oil pressure gauge, it could come in handy. It sounds good too because im worried about loosing the look of the car. Thank you for all your suggestions, i didnt even know of the shelby pod. Thanks

The first one I thought of was Mustangs Plus. $49.95 for the Shelby style dash pod. Here is a link. http://www.mustangsplus.com/Merchant...uct_Code=00391
there are so many mustang supply shops now-a-days that you can spend some time looking around and find just about anything. The tach and oil gage can be found but I havn't look for it in a while.[sm=smiley20.gif]
