351. The C will fit, but tight. Dodgestang can attest to that.

427 cleveland or windsor stroker.

I like the 408 stroker better (in both flavors though) ratios just seem better.

And to answer the next question(s):

Both are good
Build what you have it will be cheaper
If starting from scratch, build what the f you want
Don't start with the motor, start with the brakes, then the suspension, then the motor/trans
No the 8 won't last if you build for power
255 40 17, 235 is you don't want to roll the fenders
The shelby drop improves steering, not just for lowering the car
And just in case:
No the 7.5 has to come out
No you need new spindles
Yes you can use Grenada but I think the kelsey hayes style is much better or the corba upgrade kit from late models
The proportioning valve goes to the rear lines
Its an I6 not a V6

Yes you should put those torque boxes in the front if you really plan on making that much power
Subframe connectors, export brace and monte carlo brace are worth twice what you pay for them
Any 2 door model ford from 1064 till present has seats that can be essentially bolted into the car for less than a full afternoon's work

Yes I am a smart ****

Basically, worry about the chassis and make sure it can handle modern roads. Drum brakes work from low speeds (25 or so), but you'll need better ones. Granada is a typical upgrade, but not the best. You don't necessarily need a 14" kit from Baer, but don't lowball the brakes, either.

Stock steering on the classics = [:'(]. Stock suspension on the classics = [:'(]. These need to be upgrades unless you're going for a full on resto.

The chassis of the classics = [sm=alcoholic.gif]. Subframe connectors and shock tower braces will keep your windshield sealed and your shock towers in the proper location.

The 7.5 is good for a six-shooter, but not an 8. If you're building a mild 302, get an 8-inch. Shop at Currie for a good rear. There are others, but Currie has complete setups. They can also help you with brakes....
