Default Rims clearance question

Hey, ive got a question. I have American Racing Torque Thrust II rims on my car right now, 15x8 all around. I am looking to change my back tires and or wheels to something more beefy. The car has too much motor for those skinny things. I was thinking about changing the wheels to 15x10 in the back. But im not sure if that will work, clearance wise, and rubbing wise. Do you any of you guys know? Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

as far as i know and have been told, as the cars get older, they get more wheel room.......i was told 8 inch is about as far as i wanna go with my 68....so i did.......mine are 17x8's and they fit perfectly in the wheel well and dont rub but its possible they could of they were two inches wider......
