Autolite or Edelbrock?
I have a 1967 Mustang with a 289 that was equipped with 2 barrell set up. I have switched over to original cast iron 4 barrell intake but would like the suggestions of others whether it is better to go with a Pony-built Autolite 4 barrell or go with something like an Edelbrock 4 barrell?
I'd like to stick with stock carb but if there are advantages in going with an Edelbrock, then I may consider that route. Thanks.

The Autolite/motorcraft 4100 is the original carb for the "A" code mustangs. It is bullet proof and easy to dial in. They are expensive from Pony Carbs though, and they are only 450 or so CFM's, but if you are sticking with stock, then you will be pleased with it.

edit: NM, they were not happy with the carb service, not the actual carb

If you read all the responses, only the first guy was happy. The rest were disappointed.

I was being sarcastic actually. I think the carbs are good, I think his policy is a bit rough

I ordered one through JJ's Mustang Parts who gets them through Champion. About four months after I ordered one, I finally got around to making the switch fom 2 barrell to 4 barrell and the carb was no good - running waay to lean. So I sent it back. The 2nd one they sent me did not have any type of male filttings coming out from the fule lines or vacuum advance. So off to look for those. Checker, AutoZone, Ace, NAPA and finally Loper's here in Phoenix. Lopers sold me some fittings which ended up stripping both sections.
So at this point I'm ready to ditch my Autolite core and just go get an Edelbrock. I'd like to keep original parts in my numbers matching car but as my mechanic said, "no one sees the carb with the air cleaner on."
Thanks for your opinions thus so far.
