Default T5 conversion help

So i've got some money saved up and im thinkin about doing the T5 conversion in my 65 with a 289 currently with the hp absorber cruise-o-matic as of right now, after reading all the articles and such, i will need the 28oz flywheel and a throw out bearing for a T5 and a new starter from a late model along with a new clutch (what size im not exacly sure) and then im going to convert to clutch cable and i know im going to need a clutch pedal and T5 bell housing and spacer plate to accomodate for the 1 inch longer input shaft, and i kno im going to need a small slip yoke is there anything that you see that i am missing, i am probably not thinking of something right now, but if you all have any tips or tricks or advice i would love to hear it, thanks guys

If your car originally had a 4-speed toploader you would have to enlarge the tranny tunnel to accomodate a T-5, but I don't know if it is necessary since your car has an automatic. You may want to research that too.

either or, the tunnel must be cut and massaged. i don't know exactly how far it needs to be moved, but it needs to be cut and lifted about an inch, give or take and the opening for the selector/shifter may need to be widened too.

i believe you said you already read articles about it and such, but do try the FAQ's page again, there are at least 2 links there about the T5 and installing it. they should tell you a little more and you could also try google'ing it.

no. for the 64 1/2-66 the tunnel is too low to accomadate ANY trans with OD. the tunnel must be worked and a different trans mount used for it to fit right. 67 and up are good. they have th extra room needed to fit the trans in [Ace Ventura voice]like a glllove[/Ace Ventura voice].

so, yeah, i think it was one of the links in the FAQ's that showed how the tunnel had to be modded. either that or the thread i had a while back asking about them. found a lot of good stuff on the swap, now if i could find a suitcase full of 100's . . . . . [>:]

what years, because i know i specifically read that the 65-66 models needed to have the hump massaged in order to get a good clean fit. early model cars weren't designed with OD transmissions in mind. they were normally 3 speeds.
