Soaring...I figured so much. We will be busy campers on this project as inspection is coming up and school will be starting soon. This way he can start the new school year off with a clean tank and less $$$ in his pockets. I really appreciate all of y'alls help over the last year as we have learned quite a lot from the folks on this forum.

I just want to add:
Make sure before you hook up the new stuff(gas tank and fuel pump), blow the gas line out between fuel pump and tank. Might save you a headache down the road.

Dave and 88....certainly in the plans for the new tank and fuel pump. Should I use compressor air to blow thru the lines or another technique? Do I need to run any kind of solvent/cleaner thru the lines as well? Need to get this done before school starts for my son as this rustang is his pride and joy (also his money pit along with PC gaming).

You could use compressor air, but if it were mine, and knowing the relatively cheap cost of new lines, I would go ahead and replace them too while you have grease on your hands. Those 40 year old lines are probably on their last leg anyway, and you wouldn't want your son to have a fire under his stang because of a gas line leak. This is especially needed if your car has ever been driven in the snow country where the highway Dept. used salt.
