Default Ride height?????

Can I get a few people to measure their front height for me? Please measure the fender lip to the ground at the front axle. Mine is 24 inches and I think it's sagged abit. Thanks

sagged as in the shocks are bad? you can test them (most of the time) by pushing down on the car. you push down and make the spring compress 3 times and a good system will be able to settle the car back within 3 bounces after you let it go, IIRC.

usually it's the rear that sags cause of the leaf's getting worn out and tired.

just a little FYI, i was asking why you thought your front end was sagging. 24 inches sounds right to me, but i won't measure mine for you cause i'm almost positive it's off. if your struts are bad there's a chance they could be weakened causing it to sit lower than it should, that' why i was asking about your shocks, not because i like to use my computer a lot.

Mine is exactly 24 and 3/4". However, I am running 190/70/R14 tires. So, 24" doesn't sound like you have a problem.

First At 1413 posts in less than 3 months well I'll leave that alone. Gentlemen I cut a coil and a half off my springs a couple of years ago and I know it has settled a little too. I'm running 195/75/14's so your 70's at 24-3/4 makes me think I'm low. Thanks for getting the tape out!!!! Ricm

What do you mean by 1413 posts in less than 3 months? You have to remember that I am still running stock springs, so 3/4" sounds about right if you cut off a coil and a half.

mine sits at 21.00" (apex of fender through axel line to ground) but I have lowering springs and kyb shocks and all so its not really a valid measurement for what you wanted to do but the springs were suppose to lower the front 3" so sounds about right

Soaring, right I feel like I'm about an inch to low. I measured the front bumper mounting bolt like the spec's in the shop manual said and it showed I was about 3 inches to low. Thats why I wanted to know what others were running for ride height. I'm going to get a set of 480 springs with a 1 inch height adjustment from NPD and put them in. I think at that time I should sit about the same as you. The post talk was about something else. I wasn't trying to flame anybody just talking about what I've seen on this page. Thanks Ricm

Sounds like you have a plan. Are you understeering or something to make you unhappy with your ride height? I still don't know what you mean by the post count comment. Are you talking about my post count?

no, that comment was directed at me Glen. i've said it before and i'll say it again, if you have a problem with the amount of posts i have or anything to do with me, click the red hand under my post and you will never see me again, K nOOb?

oh, and by the way, try counting the months again. since this is being brought up, there was a guy who joined about the same time as me and made it to over 3000 posts in 3 months. who cares anyway. i asked you a question regarding your suspension and why you thought you were low and you made it into a comment about me changing the subject and being in front of my computer too much and you did that flaming in the post telling us to quit flaming others. good job!

i know a lot of things and i have helped quite a few people and have asked for help many times too.

and like i had said, your height sounds about right and if you think you're sitting low it may have something to do with the suspension getting soft or worn out.
