Default Headlight Adjustment

Hey Folks,

Are there any standards for adjusting your headlights. I usually pull up to a garage door, turn on the headlights and wing it. I was just curious if there are any standards such as 10 feet from the wall, center of beams so many inches high and so many inches in or out.....let me know if you have heard of anything

Thanks

I just converted my 67 to the JC Whitney "freeform" plastic headlights that use the removable lamp... I got the "almost blue" bulbs, and these suckers are great... I tried marking the garage door like you said with the old ones, but the new ones aimed differently, so it was trial and error till I got a "picture" of the road lit up the way I like it. So far, no one is flashing their brights at me at night, and I can see 10 times better than the OEM bulbs!!! And when I DO hit the brights, BABY I CAN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD!! I know it's not "concours" stuff, but I'd rather see that deer crossing the road, than hit it!! Naturally, they were too much for the 40 year old headlight switch, so that had to be replaced too...

I usually do it the way you describe from about 10 ft. away.
