Default Glass Etching

Picked up a 1967 coupe to restore last fall. While I was working on the body, a neighbor stopped by to share his knowledge of the universe and all things mechanical. He stated that the Mustang "Pony" etched into the rear side glass was produced at the factory and made for a special edition.

Has anyone seen this etching? Is my neighbor breathing too many fumes?

Thanks all....Photos to follow of the resurected beauty!

Tell him he was correct and you know of a few guys on the Mustang Forums who own such rare prized possessions.

Yeah so rare that there is a company that goes around to some of the cars shows I have been to that will etch your glass on the spot with pretty much any design you want. Maybe I'll get one of those ponies too.

I have never heard such a thing. I had an original 66 Pony Mustang with the original glass and it did not have it.

Glass etching has popular on trucks for many years. Used to be a full time guy doing glass at arco truck stop in Fontanna Calif. He could do most any design you wanted in an hour or so.You can find someone doing it at some of the larger auto shows like auto fair each spring and fall at Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord N.C.
