ok i was wondering if there was a fuse for the gauges bc only the speed one works in my car and the 4 others inculding the gas are dead. i was thinkin if the speedometer works why not the others? i checked all the connections in the back and they are all on so am i forced to but new ones?

 

Im not sure if there is a fuse or not but the speedo works because its the only mechanical gauge it has a cable that runs to the trans.

Did the rest of the gauges just stop working all at once?

yea ... the car was sitting for awhile and when i started it up i realized they didnt work.

 

i think all there is is a voltage regulator

 

get a copy of a owners manual

in the use panel you have the backuplights, radio, and 1 speed washer on a 14 amp
14 amp for the heater 2.5 amp for instrument panel 7.5 for clock courtesy lights
20 amp for lighter and emergency flasher the owners manual is a little booklet that tells you the basics of your car
what you need is the ford repair manual which is $40 at mustangsunlimited.
what i would do is take the instrument panel off get a tester and with the key turned to the acc position check each wire that goes to each instrument.

 

is the fuse panel the box in the top left of the engine?

 

no the fuse panel is inside the car if you look under the dash to the left you might have to remove the kick panel but there are 5 fuses in a black box. the thing you are talking about might be the heater motor its on the firewall and it sticks out and its round?

 

no its like a black box connected to the frame when you open the engine its to your right like almost behind the light attached to the frame.
