well, i got a speeding ticket
got 2 speeding tickets, both about 6 months apart. went to court both times, pleaded no contest, asked to take defensive driving and pay the fine. insurance doesnt know and i have nothing on my record.
You should be able to call the courthouse and find out how much the ticket will be. Then just mail in a money order and you wont have to fool with the judge. The only other alternative is to go to court and fight it, but as mentioned, the lawyer wont be cheap. Chances are the cop wont even show up but there's a slim chance he will.
i got a summons thing i think. I called the station and they said i can just come in and pay the fine, without court or anything. All she asked if an accident was involved, and i said no, and she said come in and pay it. SOOO hopefully, thats all.
Yep, you won't have to go to court, or pay court costs, but it will definitely go on your driving record and your insurance company will hear about it if you don't volunteer to take the defensive driving course. You are not off the hook yet youngun.
