what is the function of the little black box located to the right of the radiator, as you face the car?

does it have anything to do with my alternator charging?

Sounds like the voltage regulator. Yes, its what control how much voltage the alternator sends to the car.

 

i have not learned how to post pictures yet. looked it up, it is the voltage regulator. so if it is faulty or damaged, my alternator may not send enough volts to the battery to keep it charged?

i moved it to install a recovery bottle for my radiator and noticed a drop in my volt meter. used to read 13+, now only reads 12. i think i broke it.

it also has a little thing like a condenser attached to it. what is that?

 

I've been told that is a noise suppressor for the radio.

ya the condenser looking thing is a noise suppressor for the radio unfortnatly they are hard to fid cause no one makes them and i tried using a condenser but it didn't work that well so i had to make one so don't loose it or break it
