all i want is to get the correct color, then repaint it, oxidation isn't on my mind right now. I will leave some part of the inside with the original paint, just for a little keepsake. it's getting sandblasted in 4 weeks, then off to the shop.

that's not so easy, because the way things are looking, this color wasn't on any other ford, so I will just have to wait and see what comes up when it's scanned by the color machine at the shop, i am just excited that's all. I didn't expect to get this.
The overspray looks alot like the overspray I found on my Mach during disassembly. My car was originally Silver Jade metallic. This is probably not the exact color but I bet it is close. Pull a deluxe Marti report and see if that offers any answers. Otherwise the car was delivered to DSO 72 (San Jose) as part of a local promotion(there may be other cars with 723085 for a DSO), or it simply had a special paint.
I did some more research and came up with a possible answer to the color question. First, check out this link.

Their story is similar. I believe your car must be painted a 1966 Ford factory color taken from another model. Check out this.

I know the colors reproduce like crap but does Dark Turquoise Metallic look like a possible match? It does to me. See if you can find a picture of a 1966 T-Bird painted this color and compare. Otherwise, check the color choices on other 1966 Ford models and see what you find.
