Default Intake, Spacer, Carb ?

Can anyone tell me if they can see any problems I might have using this spacer on my Stealth Intake! I’ll be using an Autolite 4100 carb

Looks like you need to flip the spacer over so the PCV nipple points toward the PCV hose. Looks like everything will work. Were did you get that spacer? Never seen one like that.

I'd delete the cross bars completely. Your air flow won't be too smooth as you have it.

Delete the cross bar, are you crazy? You have to separate the primaries and the secondaries. I do not recommend eliminating the cross bar.

Um, I think you're talking out your ****. You may want to learn a little about engines before posting any 'advice.'[:@]

Take a look at the Stealth manifold. The primaries/secondaries flow into the same area. This is VERY common for 4v manifolds, unless you have a carb that opens all 4 butterflies at the same time and the same rate.

Dual plane manifolds, like the Stealth, separate the left and right side of the carb based on the firing order of the engine. Introducing a gap left to right is known to increase throttle response and works much like an exhaust cross over. Single plane manifolds dump all 4 barrels into a single chamber, which is not as efficient at lower rpm's.

Well you may be right there Colorado. I'm so glad to know there are people like you out there that know so much more than I do. It makes this planet much more fun to be on. At what point in my life do I actually get to know as much as you? Thank you so much for pointing out how limited my knowledge is and the fact that I know absolutely nothing. Really makes my day.

We were discussing this a few days back whether or not a spacer was necessary on a Stealth, and the general concensus was that it is not needed because the aluminum Stealth dissipates the heat enough before it hits the carb. And the turbulence caused by the Stealth is quite adequate without the spacer. Now, if that holds true, and you don't use a spacer, then why would you need a spacer that separates the primairies and the secondaries whereas the stealth does not?

I think he is using the spacer to get the PCV into the manilfold. Not needed because there are plenty of holes on the back of a stealth for this. I like the spacer he found though. I have never seen one that thin that had a PCV in it. Notice how the nipple flattens out as it goes into the spacer. I though it was pretty cool.

Is this the same dude with the problem of finding a spacer thin enough but still had the PCV nipple? I thought we had decided to just use another hole for the PCV and not use a spacer......Oh well, I'm glad he found one that thin. I remember hunting and pecking around the internet trying to find one thinner than 1" and couldn't.
