Default Not so Classic 65 Fastback

This is at the Street Rod Nationals this weekend in Louiville - Ends today at 3:00. This car was in Last Month's Hot Rod Magazine. Pretty interesting combination of old and new technology. 2003 Cobra under that 65 body.

I always wanted to put an '03 Cobra in mine but I'd probably get banned by Soaring so it's not gonna happen. Great color though. What kind of rims are those?

Eventually I will put a Paxton Novi 1200 on my '65 Fastback's 306cu. Since Shelby used Paxtons then maybe it will be acceptable to Soaring as his approval is what I live for.

I thought about putting a warning label on the post - something like "Soaring Beware", but, couldn't think of the proper phrasing. The Wheels are Forgeline. August issue of Hotrod. I spoke to one of the Julien brothers (not sure which one - sorry just blown away by the car) and asked if he considered taking orders, but he said he didn't think it would be practical, Cost with labor and donor cars prpbably in the 125K and up price range.
Sure was nice to look at though. Good details in Hot Rod for any that are interested.

The only redeemig factor I can see on that car, is that he left the bumpers on it. [:'(]

Love it, or hate it, there is no denying the incredible craftsmanship involved in creating it.

Do you know the colour name and how makes it as it look dangerously close to the colour of my car?

Some of us has been watching the progress of this car for over a year. I like the car but not the color. Reminds me of my first 67. My friends called it the banana mobile.

Glen is a purist.. its gotta be stock and all FoMoCo parts.. I can identify with that and understand it. I can also see how someone could like the old style bodywork, but want the new car driveability, economy and power. That thing took more effort to build than I wouled ever want to put in something so close to stock for each car. Its got a near stock Cobra under it, and a close to stock body on it. I like factory styling more than aftermarket kits so the body is ok but it sure isnt a sleeper.

it screams "HEY LOOK AT ME!!!"

Saw the article, was intrigued. It really is as Mustang as you can get......old and new.
