Default Muffler Questions

Im lookin at a set of flowmaster 40 series, but not sure what series or what size to get. im pretty sure my exhaust is 2 inch, but its at the body shop and i cant measure it. if the mufflers turned out to be the wrong size, the muffler shop could prolly make them work couldnt they?. IM thinkin of a Tri Y header, into either an H or X pipe, then back to the flows. Any body have a similar set up to this and what does it sound like. by the way, i dont care about interior drone or any of that. im young and dumb.

I got the setup your lookin for. Sounds fricken sweet! Im young and dumb also I have tri-y headers with the Flowmaster American Exhaust system. H-pipe to 2.5" pipe to deltaflow 40 series to stainless steel tips.

Here are some vids I took of mine for another member.

The muffler shop could use sections of pipe to downsize/upsize the exhaust tubing so that it matches the muffler inlet, but if your tubing ID is too small it's going to look like ****. I would find out what you have coming from engine and make sure you order some 40's that will fit your system. The 40 series sound great though, I am running a 3" inlet to 2 1/2" outlet all the way out the back (I have a 3" dr. gas x-pipe that match up to the 3" heddman header collectors).

Go ahead and use whatever you like. I love the sounds of flowmasters although I've never heard magnaflows a classic stang. So I guess i'm biased.
