if you look under your car, your floorpan will have 4 holes in it, in there is 4 bolts holding your seat track down. take the back ones out first.

There may be some rubber plugs in the floorpan where the bolts are.

My plugs were pretty shot when I recently removed my seats. They basically crumbled upon prying them out.

However, its worth noting that great care should be taken when removing the seat nuts. I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to fish one out with a coat hanger when I dropped it in between the double floor pan of my '67. [:@]

No, you just need some good snap-on sockets and ratchets, and throw those cheap Taiwanese sockets and ratchets in the nearest dump.

I don't know if it is the same for all stangs, but I seem to recal that the bolts holding the seats in my 67 were "star" heads. Or it could have been my 69. It was a while ago. Don't know the exact name, but I got sockets on the SK specialty tool rack at my auto parts store.
Good luck.
