Default A little progress

OK, today I set my goal to get the vacuum advance, water neck and water pump cleaned up. Now, there is a little more to it than meets the eye. First off, the water pump has to come off. Yeah, the rad comes out, the fan comes off , etc, etc.....Well, after getting the three parts wire wheeled and nice and shiny I discussed with myself whether or not to paint them silver. I said, " Self, do you think we ought to paint them silver?" and self said, "Nah, you dumb ***, that would look ghetto." So, self won out and they are natural color. Damn my back hurts. Oh, here's a pic....

I'll tell you what though. It is slow and tedious. If I ever do this again, I am going to pull the engine and do it right.

I know what you mean. I did mine like what your doing before I took it to the MCA show. It was a pain.

Yeah speaking of Slow and Tedious I've been trying to get my A/C unit out forever now and I can't figure it out. Soaring, if you can I need a PM or something that might tell me how (Mine is identical)

What part of the AC are you trying to remove? All of it, or just the compressor and lines to the engine compartment?

if you are going for show points, the waterneck, waterpump were on the engines when the engines were painted so you would go black in 64-65. fan spacer is painted aluminum finish.

No, your hoses are not unhooked. Take your car to an airconditioner place and have them bleed the lines. Then, take your car back to the house and take the hoses off the compressor, then loosen the belt with the tension pulley and take it off. After that you will see several bolts that hold your compressor in place. Just take them out and WAllllah! The compresspor is removed. Now, tell me why you want to take the compressor out?

I don't want a/c. Why do you say my hoses aren't unhooked though?
