Default I made some progress today.

Today I stripped some of my dash and primed it. First I used paint stripper and then came back with sand paper. Finally I sprayed a coat of primer. Tomorrow I will finish.

You have to be very careful when you re-attach the glove box door. Make sure the final paint is cured and hard, then take your time aligning the glove box door.

I unbolted mine from the lower dash frame, and the door came off as an assembly with the hinge. But That's for my '69, so it might be difficult of prior models.

Hi,

I did my 65 just recently. The hinge is mounted inside the glove box with either (3) or (4) screws.
Be sure to remove the wire drop cord on the right side first. The hinge wraps around the underside
frame of dash inside the glove box.You will need a "stubby" (shortest screwdriver) phillips head to get
to them. Craftsman makes the perfect size in both phillips and standard slot.

Once screws are out, be prepared to catch the door with hinge. It drops right out.

I re-painted my door seperately. The latch and horse come off with ease.
I taped off my chrome, media blasted off the old paint - front and rear of door,
primered and painted. It turned out divine!
