Default another value question

I was surprised at the high values you were rating that I6 mustang, in the other post. So i was wondering what you guys thought of mine. It's a 1966 Mustang 289 2v Auto. Original everything, except exhaust and iginition systems. New wood grain dash stuff, grant steering wheel, GT rear panel. Underdash stereo, with 2 kick panel speakers and two speakers in the rear deck, and an amp and 2 12 in subs in the trunk. The engine has never been rebuilt or anything, and it prob. has 157,000 miles on it, but im trying to determine if it only has 57,000.

Sweet ride, man. 289 C code coupes in very good shape = 9-12k around here (MASS). That 15k number Emporer threw out in the other value thread was regarding the S Code (390) mentioned in the post above...

Yeah, I guess we shouldn't be judgmental, but yes, you need some rear springs. That's a very clean car. My guess is that it would bring anywhere between 8-10 grand here in Texas. Basically, you are stock. The stereo stuff may bring a smile to a teeny bopper who would want to buy the car, but basically, stereo stuff does not enhance the value of a car.

I would disagree with soaring on the teeny bopper attraction here. Since your car is bascially stock, the 12" subs in the back are kinda out of place. Your sound system would bring better value to the overall price if the car itself was a little more modded out. As far as value, it would be cool to see some interior shots....if it's in good shape I would say you could bring in around 8500-9000. If you do attract a younger buyer then you can ship the subs with the car, if not sell them on flea bay or something. Nice car btw...

Yeah, you are probably right. You know your car better than anybody. Just for grins, get your car on a level surface and measure from the ground to the wheel well opening lip. It should be about 26 1/2 inches.
