Default Poll: Muscle Car Restoration

(Had Some Time At Work)

What does everyone think of Restorations?? Which method do you think is best or prefer for the Classic Muscle Mustangs we Love...Just Lookin for anyones Thoughts---

Ground Up G Machine= Full Stipped Down Chassis with custom frame work/metal fabrication, Totally modern suspension setups(4 links, airbags, coilovers, independent suspensions) w/ BIG wheels, custom 1-off interiors with leather, stereo systems, custom gauges...etc..., wild powertrains with superchargers, turbos and high end fuel managment...and smooth body lines, everything shaved and smoothed with integral lighting and metal...

Ground Up Restoration= Full stripped down chassis, with a stock style frame(sub-frame connectors), standard upgraded suspension(leaf springs, coils, traction bars---basic bolt ons), stock style interior(aftermarket gauges, different seats), an era correct motor(carbureted with no fancy power adders or tricks) and basic sweet paint---clean body with regular handles/ fittings still on. A fun Sunday Car...

Original Style Restoration= Stripped down or rust proofed chassis/frame. Everything as it was from the factory with all the correct markings, codes, wiring, paint codes (you know, the chrome drip rail mouldings put back on)---Stock/ OEM...

A to B Resto-Rific Making the Stanger get you From A to B in one Piece-(while sporting vintage Muscle)--Get in running, keep it running and hope she will stay that way without oodles of $$$.

Original restoration, but not having to stick to MCA judging rules such as needing an Autolite battery instead of an Interstate which is a better battery. I do however, think that the body should be unmolested, and that the running gear remain the same as factory specs. I do however, suggest that front disk brakes and suspension upgrades be added. Also, adding some nice wheels is not out of bounds as far as I am concerned. Just don't drastically change the looks of a classic by putting big 17 inch or bigger chrome wheels on one.

I should have stated--Money being no object, just pure opinion. I would have to agree that "trans-am style" mustang restos are cool--i would say that it falls into category B---its not a G machine, cause it aint perfect, but its not an option C factory spec original restoration--cause there are mods to make it a track worthy car---

Sunday Cruiser and Weekend Warrior I guess fall into that same category in my at work Poll--Option B

Choice E...Old styling with modern upgrades (ignition, FI, suspension, etc.). Maybe some minor updates to the exterior, but nothing extravagant as all those Eleanor II clones.

personally, I like to make 15% car...only 15% of the people that look at it realize that it is modified, I also like period correct cars. Mini-lites on a 67 look right, while Foose wheels don't...

Whats the difference in Ground Up and Original Style? They both sound the same to me.
