Default please help

my master cylinder is leaking and i dont know where at. i redone my brake system and it was working fine and today i noticed a wet spot on my steering box and shaft.

It sounds like its the seal at the mounting base. Depending on if your car has power brakes or not, sometimes itll be a visible leak, other times itll leak right into the brake booster, which is bad because the brake fluid will eat up the guts of it and eventually make it fail also. Replace or rebuild your master ASAP.

i have manual brakes. it looks to be leaking fromt the bottom of the master cylinder

if its leaking dont drive it replace it cause u have the single res. master and if anything goes u dont have any brakes front or rear!

that stuff is very corrosive so wipe it up as best as possible.

It sounds like one of your brake lines is leaking where it attaches to your master cylinder. It is probably a very slow leak and is running down the master cylinder and then dripping from the bottom once gravity takes over. It is common for those fittings to leak once you swap out a cylinder. You really have to snug those compression fittings tight or they will leak.

By the way Brandon, you ever tried to stop a car quickly going 50 mph with an emergency brake? Won't happen! Model 65 made a good point concerning someones safety or the safety of a family member riding in the car. Your sarcastic comment is innapropriate
