Default VIN

OK

Picked up my 69 fb

Worse then I hoped for but better then I feared

quesiton ...where the frikken hell is the vin located

I ll give the recap of the 10 hr drive in 3 gear later

Basically the clutch is ****ed, it dont grip, then it gets stuck and after a few secs comes poping back with a bang, the pedal sticks to the floor and then it snaps back.

It has a hurst stick protruding from the gear box, so I asume its a after marked installment of a "quick" shifter from hurst, its real tight...
But I aint got no 4 gear, its just like its not there, pull the stick back and its like nutral.

Any ideas other then sell the car, rip out and replace clutch plate and gear box

And

Id like a link to somewhere I could find some good 500+ handeling clutch systems and gear box

Sounds like the clutch is way out of adjustment. It may be linkage causing all the problems you describe. Adjust it correctly and take it for a drive. I doubt it's any kind of a quick shifter, probably just a factory style Hurst shifter.

Wait. Scratch all that. I'll give you $100 to take this POS off your hands...

hmm. so its supposed to be a

250 ci engine and a standard interior.

but it has a 390 with a 4 speed manual, and deluxe interior.

its black colour outside and inside

looks like I might buy a crate engine if its not a original 390 in it.

if its not a "real" 390 car I might just go crate

Thx Soaring

Well, as you know, all those things could have been changed. VIN numbers don't lie though.
