Default Picked up my new engine

I still have allot of work to do including painting the block. I'm going to finish the water pump and timing case cover natural and just clear it.

Wow that looks so good! So your going to paint the block with all that suff bolted on? Are you going to take a few things off first? They wouldnt paint it for you? I see you covered the intake with tape, make sure you cover the holes for the coolant too. Its just as important.

With everything brand new except the block and 289 crank it's $3200. An I mean everything right down to the ARP bolts and ST STL bolt set. I know you can get crate engine for about $3400 but, not like this combo.. I looked this up at one point and to get this in a crate was going to be over $5000. Now remember, we are talking about everything including the ceramic coated Try-Y shorty headers that are not shown. The Headers alone were $400.

It's going to look sweeeeeet under that hood when its done.

Painting the block is no big deal, done it MANY times, even with it in the engine bay. Not going to take anything off, everything is torqued down and ready to go. I told them not to paint it, I use POR-15 with a brush and its self leveling. When its done, you will swear it was done with a spray gun and it will be hard as a rock.

thanks for the prices. It gives me a really good idea of what I could do to my 289 thats .030 over. But that will be in 5 or more years because I have to pay for college now!
