There is a stainless steel piece on my 69 coupe on the rear qtr windows. Starts at the very rear of the opening and goes up to where the roofline starts to level out. Tucked up under where the weather stripping goes. They are riveted in. before the car goes off to the body shop to get painted should I remove these or just have the body guy tape over them . What are they for anyway. did they hold in some weather strip or something. Thanks
Jim
Just my .o2. Seems you have already stripped the car down, why not remove them before paint. Seems to be the thing to do if you can get them off w/o damaging them.
Good luck.
The car is completly stripped. I just need to clean off the old wx stripping glue. That was how I found them I think I will just drill them out. I was thinking if they didnt show I would leave the original rivets in. They are in pretty snug and sometimes my rivets wiggle around a bit. But I think I will risk it. Polish them up a bit and oput them back in when I get the car back
