Default car won't start

just did intake/carb swap. everything seems to be connected. engine has compression, spark, fuel to carb...wont start. turns over fine. I sprayed starting fluid into carb and it coughed. pulled dist. cap and it looked fine. havent checked the timing yet though, but it shouldnt be too far off, if at all.

if it matters, I just put on an edelbrock performer 289 intake and 500cfm electric choke Edl. carb. anyone have any suggestions?[:@]

I am assuming it was running before you did the swap? Have you checked the points gap? Coil wire on tight? Starter solenoid wires connected? Wish I could help more.

chack your timing if you had your dist out ,,plug out #1 plug till it blows you finger off,,bump it till maker on bal gets on 10 before TDC pop your cap off and see if your dist. rotor is pointing towards #1 wire on cap..if not take it out and restab it ,,till its points at that post on #1 termail..
