Removing rear shocks?
Hello Everyone,
Im in the middle of putting new shocks into my 65 coupe, but ran into a snag.
The rear shocks..... you know where there located, its behind the back seat and yada yada, basically i cant figure out how im supposed to hold the shock stud and still be able to put a wrench on the nut to remove it. How have you all done this, is there a tool im not familiar with, please advise.
Thanks to all.

have some one hold them with a pair of vise grips from under the car or get the actual shock tool from auto zone they have it for a loan a tool i beileve
Theres a shock tool?
Ill go get it.
I thought about having someone hold it, but cant make that happen. Does the shock tool actually hold the shock and allow me the ease of just using a socket on the nuts? Because I see no way of someone holding the stud and turning the nut in that space. The bottom was easier because the access, but theres very limited access on top.
Thank you very much.

I went the vise grip route myself, I was too lazy and cheap to get the tool.

I squeezed a set of vise grips onto the shock's shaft so when I turned it up top with a rachet, it would turn and hit the undercarraige. I didnt have a second pair of hands to help, but when it hit, it wasnt spinning anymore.
