Default Hood hinge patch panels?

Does anyone make these? I took off my hood to gain some extra room while working on the motor and with it I took off the hinges (kept cutting myself on them! [:@]). On the passenger side one of the three locations where the hinge bolts to the inner fender pulled out a square of the metal slightly bigger than the "nut" for the bolt. If anyone has any info, if I can buy one or if there is a template to fab one, your help will be greatly appreciated.

You can probably clean up the hole to get rid of any rust and corrosion, cut a patch out of some sheetmetal, weld it it and weld in the original bolt if it's still good.

Otherwise, you can buy a RH inner fender apron, cut out the mounting holes on the apron on the car and use it as a template to cut a patch out of the new fender apron. Weld the patch onto the apron on the car, prime and paint.

Thanks. I found it. I was looking on mustangdepot.com and they didn't have it (or didn't have it listed) but I found it on mustangsplus.com. Looks like it'll work.

Befor you go welding. Have you tried using a pick hammer and doly to reshape? I had the same issue, a sligh fender bender that pulled out one of the nuts and pulled the metal as well. Just took some time with a pick hammer and a dolly to get it reshaped and get the lip to retain the nut again. What have you got to lose, you were going to weld it anyway. Give it a shot. You can also tack the nut to the sheet metal if it is not grabbing enough.
Good luck.

To replace that piece of the splash apron will require removal of the fender and everything on the inside of it as well. If you cant massage it back into shape, then you dont have much choice.. Be aware its not a small job to do it..

For reference you are lookin for the inner spalsh apron replacement pannel. Mine were rusted so bad the hinges werent attached anymore, just floppin around..

Sounds like you can just get the one nut welded back in and repair it. Replacing that whole rear apron is a Pain in the ****!

What happened was where the nut end of the hinge bolt was pulled right thru. there is just a hole there now. i have to put something there and don't really wanna put just a little piece of sheet metal there. I would rather weld a panel over it so it looks semi clean. I was never going to actually cut the old out and put the new in, just throw the new on top of the old and weld into place. It'll give it a little added stregnth.

I have fixed those before so this is what I recommend. If you have a big hole weld a washer on the back side ot the panel and then weld a nut to that. It is much easier and you will never see it when the hinge is installed.
