Default Regulating...

I have the Electronic Voltage Regulator(Short Circuit Protected) that is made to maintain 60 Amps...the problem is that my Alternator is 100 Amps. Now my question is about a Solid State Voltage Regulator, what are they and how are they different from what I have??

Uh, voltage regulator adjusts the voltage, not the current. They are rated to handle a certain amount of current. Your regulator should be rated to handle no less than 110% of the available output from your alternator. Most solid state regulators won't have a problem with that much current.

Thanks. That was 5 years in the making. I haven't even tried to figure out how much $$$ went into that thing. Found out over the weekend that my factory HiPo valve covers are warped...as indicated by a puddle of oil under the engine. Thought a seal had blown out, but traced the trail to the valve cover. Grrrr.

But, it is fun to see the looks on people when that big ol' thing shows 'em some tail lights.
