Default misfiring

k so about two days ago i was driving home and was going up a hill, not too steep but probably about a 10% grade and i noticed my car misfiring. so the next day i switched out the plugs which had quite a bit of high speed glazing (i dont speed i swear) and put the car back togeather. well now its still misfiring when ever some sort of load is put on the engine. if i put the gas ne more than say 50% to the floor i misses horribly and i get a nice little gas smell. the wires are fine, cap and rotor are fine (changed those out bout month ago). the distributor was change to electronic bout 2 years ago. the only thing i could think of is maybe the coil? im guessing its still original so im wondering if that is the culprit.

Try a new coil. Also, check the gas to make sure there isn't water in it.

k small update. thought i take a cheap way and hope and changed the spark plug wires. changed those out and before i did it my fuel pressure gauge was bouncing all over the place and found that odd. but the worst thing just happened. changed out the spark plug wires and now im getting a thunking sound from what sounds like the end of my headers......backfire possibly?? but it doesnt sound loud enough, almost sounds like the quick thunk every less than 5 seconds

HELP!

Are you damn sure you have the plug wires hooked up in the right firing order? Get out there and check it again.
