went to install my clutch linkage and the z bar wont go all the way back for me to stick the pushrod in there so i can get my clutch working[:@] i guess im gonna have to heat the header and bend the pipe so it wil clear anyone else run into this problem on there 284 4spd with tri-y combo? alos someone got pics where the return springs go so i can figure those out? top and bottom

nope there brand new 65 style mounts

return spring goes from the zbar to release lever I would take pics but its dark out and its late. I do have the same setup tri-y and toploader

I was also thinking...a K-Code Z-Bar might fit better

idk i think im gonna torch the hgeader and bend it down and a couple of inches?

Pictures would be great. I test fitted my equalizer bar and it seems too long. Here's my dillema. I have the GT40P heads w/ shorty headers. I assume will have to use the adapter mount that bolts to the bellhousing.

the frame side mount is adjustable loosen it up put the z bar in and push it back over and tighten it up

well i got the clutch z bar stuffed hooked up i gotta reinstall the header i took a hammer and slightly dimpled the tube gonna see if that works. the clutch is not as stiff as people make them out to be?
