is my intake manifold bad?
hey guys,
as some of you might know i am currently restoring my engine, and i was cleaning up my intake manifold and i noticed ( read carefully from here on, its gets complicated ) that there is a hole in the pan that is riveted ( 2 rivets, caticorner to each other ) to the bottom of the intake manifold, the pan is about the size of your palm. the hole looks like someone took a flat head screw driver, stabbed the pan at an angle, and pushed down on the handel, forcing the metal up at the point of the screw driver. the hole is about the thikness of my small fingernail. is my intake manifold bad? i hope not, my budget could not take it if it is bad.thanks for anyhelp!

i would weld it up if u knowhow like said above or jb weld it if u dont. its just to help keep the hot oil from splashing on the manifold heating up the carb etc. but it wont hurt anything just to leave it alone
how could it protect the carberator, the pan is ont eh bottom of the intake manifold, the hot oil would have to go through a total of 3 inches of sold cast metal to get to the carberator....

you will have to make do with out, im sorry, i wish i could show one.
