Simple install not so simple
Ok, I know this should be really easy to do, but how do you put the dang oil dipstick in? My dad and I have tried many times, but it just seems the hole in the timing cover is a tad bit too small, or the dipstick too big. I even tried freezing the dipstick to condense the metal in hopes that it might fit in there. Anyone have any recommendations to get it in? I'm hoping to drop my engine in tomorrow and would like this to be done.
Should we take a torch or heat gun to the hole in the timing cover to expand it, then slip the dipstick in?

I think you have the wrong dip stick or they messed up in the factory when they made it.
They fit tight no doubt but you should be able to tap them in with a hammer using little force.
Return it and doubble check to see if its for your engine

Alright well it was in there before. When the engine was rebuilt, we needed a new timing cover. But I took the dipstick to the old timing cover and it was just as tight. It'll tap in maybe a 1/4" with a hammer, but we are afraid to give it too much umph.
