Default quarter panel ornaments

This may be a stupid question, but my neighbor has a 66 mustang with a 6 cylinder in it and it doesn't have that trim on it. Is it optional. thanks

It is the trim that goes on the quarter panel. The straight piece of chrome that has three other pieces of chrome going out.

I know what your talking about now. I don't know. My 66 has it. 65 and 64 are not the same. I think a 67 and a 68 don't have them. My car was a six until I got a brain fart. I don't have the 289 on the front fender.

I know it's a 66 by the hubcaps and gas cap, I have a 66 289 and it has it on there. I have seen some 66's with a 6 cylinder and the trim on the side. I don't know it looks pretty good without the trim on it. Maybe they had a delete option where you could take off the trim.

Default Trim

Hi,

It should have the rear quarter panel tril if it is a 66.

The E with the points facing forward if you will.

See mine at: http://www.sounddomain.com/id/66conv200

Cheers,

Default RE: Trim

Hi

It was an option on the 66 model. If is was the Sprint Model (june 66 - August 66) the ornament option was deleted and replaced by a accent stripe around the scoop and alond the lines of the car.

My mustang is a GT and doesn't have them, but I dunno, I think the six cylinders have them, but you can get them removed, I know someone that did that.
