Default Found Engine Tag

so i was working under my car and saw an engine tag on the block from the people who rebuilt it....im curious if any of you can sort of give me your opinions on this info...all i can tell is it was bored out a bit.... .030 ....i dono what the .010 for the mains and rods means?

any help...and your opinons on if this is good or bad...let me know...thanks.

im sry i cant help, but where on your engine did you find this? ive been looking for something similar from the people who put the cleveland in. apparently the business doesnt exist anymore, so calling and asking about it is out and the papers they gave were no help at all.

The 0.010 rods and mains mean that they machined 0.010 (ten thousandths of an inch) off of your rod and main bearing journals on your crankshaft. Resulting in needing 0.010 thicker bearings. Also, they bored the cylinders out 0.030".

what cubic inches does that leave me with then about??? since it bored out a little....

030 over would be about a 306.

i think he's got a 289, that wouldn't make it a 306.

4.03 x 4.03 x 2.87 x .7854 x 8 = 292.86 or a 293 ci rounded up.

That is bore x bore x stroke x 1/4 of PI x number of cylinders.. write it down or memorize it..

Tag says 302. And isn't he the guy that just put a 302 (289 with 302 crank/rods) in the engine bay?

So substitute 3.0 for 2.87 and you get a 306... Write down the math thingy.. you will love it..
