Is yours 2v or 4v? I cant remember. Stay away from the single plane with the 2V, and the 4V will run just happily fine with a dual plane as well. Especially on the street, mine did great with the stock intake and a big cam. They flow pretty well.

Single plane intakes tend to load up pretty easy because fuel will puddle on the intake floor, then run down one of the runners into the engine. Under 2500 they do it the worst. A big engine like a 455 or 460 can use one more effectively, but it will still load up some at idle. it will be more pronounced on a Cleveland.

I have been lookin at the Air Gap for the Cougar, not sure if I want to run the stock intake. I may have to if I dont want a hole in my hood..lol.

I have three sets of headers, but no you cant have them. You could have the old rusty bent up 2v headers I took of the nightmare..

What cam are you getting? I didnt ever see what you had decided on. 4V engines are fun, kinda rare, slightly exotic, unique and they make MEGAPOWA!!

Yeah you dont want those headers, but you would like the ones I have for the Cougar.. The 4v headers for the maverick would make you drool.. 2" primary 3.5" collector, Tubular Automotive made them, two pipes cross over under the engine into the opposite collector, custom built and rather pricey.. I still need to see if I can get that engine in there...

You know that will need new springs right? You could break it in with the old ones as long as they dont coil bind, but change the springs too. I had to drive single planes for a while before I figured out what was causing some of the issues..lol.. Hey it will still be fun, just make sure you dont wash the rings out ok?

3.50 gears and a 2400 stall unless you have a 4 gear, (a 3000 would work too but dont get a universal lose chevy type one.. They just make heat and burn things up.) and that thing will be a runner.. A slightly smaller 280H Comp cam in my 4V with 3.00 gears was so traction limited it would go sideways like it was nothing, very fun car.. should be easy in the 13s with sticky tires.

you mean a TKO right? T5s wont handle the torque of a 351.. If you are going to spend that kinda money, get a TKO instead.. the 500 would be just about right...

obviously Todd is advising you to not go the single plane intake manifold route. I will also chime in that your set-up is not designed for the single plane, but rather the dual plane. Take a read here, then decide before you buy the intake.
