Default 65 Vert...

I want to know what a good price for a 1965 Convertible w/ a 289 2V and an auto. The car is under a shelter, tops gone, needs a new interior, needs new front valance, new bumper, drivers side door skin(a small hole in the lower front section of the door). Body is solid, lower quarters are in good shape, cowl hasn't rusted through. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

65 convertibles are expensive. This one sounds like a few thousand would put it back to great condition though. It's hard to say, but I would imagine somewhere around 10-12 grand. If you can get it below 10 grand then seriously consider getting it. It will only increase in value, so you will be making an investment as opposed to an expenditure. Pristine 65 verts are bringing over 20 grand.

I can probably get it for less than $5000...perhaps even $4000. The car is as it was from the factory...pretty much original. Like I said, it only needs the front valance, bumper, rock guard, grill, and a door skin(which I already have one).

25k for a fairly pretty prestine vert...then subrtract out for work needed. If this number is higher than what he can get it for, its a good buy!

If you can get it for less than 5K, you are one lucky SOB.

You are right, a few thousand and it would be road ready. It would still need paint, interior, a new top, and a suspension overhaul(mainly because it has been setting up for a while, but it has been under a shelter), but the positive side to this is that it doesn't need any major work.
