Default what to do?....

i just bought all new cooling system ans my 17" fan is hitting the bottom of my new 3.5" shroud.[:@] i think its because i have stock motor mounts. the previous owner cut the bottm part of the original shroud for the same reason. what do i need to do to lift my engine a little higher??...

Use the engine frame mounts & "motor mounts" for a '66. I would advise that you hang onto your stock '65 stuff though. Maybe clean and paint it, then box it up. It is getting more difficult to find. Where the '66 stuff can be bought reproduction, the '65 mounts can not at this time.
Another option that is pretty nice is the Ron Morris engine mount setup. Sits at the '66 height, and is adjustable side to side and fore/aft. They are a little pricey though ($200.00 for the set).
Don't forget to check hood clearance if you are running a tall intake or air cleaner.

good luck,

yea, you might want to hold off on the motor mounts as thats alot harder to replace them compared to the difficulty of maybe notching out the fan shroud a little bit.
