Default 1969 Mustang Project

Hello Everyone!

Just took possession of a 1969 Coupe from the original owner in California. The car needs some restoration work but also seems to have both brake and electrical problems. First question: car has four headlights, the outside two work fine low and high beam. Inside headlights don't seem to work at all. What triggers the inside headlights? Second question: The parking brake indicator light bulb was burned out so I replaced it. Now the light stays on whether the brake is set or released. Is there a switch attached somewhere near the parking brake mechanism to activate the light?

1) umm the inside one if factory should come on with the brights on that yr but if not look for a switch that says foglight or if they are aftermarketthen look for a switch that doesn't fit

That's the high and low beam on my 65. Is that where you guys turn on your fog lights? I assume the inside lights on the grille are the fog lights. I have never seen a classic Mustang with 2 headlights on each side.

the outside headlights are low beam while the inside ones are high beam... the outside ones DO NOT do high/low beam

EDIT: I guess I wasn't thinking clearly when I posted... ignore this

The outsides on my 69 have high/low. The insides are just high.

?????? All 69's have four headlights, two on each side. The inners are mounted in the grille.

But, most of the time, those are referred to as fog lights. I don't know why, because the fog lights we used to use were amber in color. A bright white light will just make the fog blind you even more.
