Default Lug Nut Problem

Recently got some Cragar SS wheels but the wheel studs don't stick out enough for most of the lug nuts I have found - is there a solution to this?

You have to replace the wheel studs with longer ones.

Ah nevermind I found some on ebay - are the Ford studs 7/16" or 1/2" ?

Those rims take a special lug nut. They slide through the wheel. I have a few around here.

What's the deal with the center or offset washers?

The idea is for the washer to cover the oblonged hole. This allowed Crager to do a "1 wheel fits everything but Rosie O'Donell" kind of thing.

Nice rims BTW,

Scott

I've heard if you install the wrong washer it will completely f--k up your driving, I can't find any guides as to which washer is correct for mine. Guess I need to call Cragar tomorrow!

You need the center washers, since your lugs are centered in the whole. If the lugs were closer to the spoke, you'd need the offset.... This is my theory.

i have cragar SS rims, you need longer studs, the PO of mine decided to replace lugs on all wheels, ran out anf used a different lug, totally ****ed up the nut and eventually spread to the rest of the bolts. i am going to get all new bolts and maybe nuts.
