Default Monte Carlo on today

The Big Brown truck showed up today, and lo and behold he had my Monte Carlo bar that I ordered. So, after wrestling with it for about two hours, it's on. I didn't have to do much in preparation other than loosen the fender bolts and use a rubber hammer to convince the inner fender he had to move out a tad. I guess my shock towers had not moved any for all these 40 some odd years. That was the good thing about making it easy for me to put the MC on without much hassle. Other than that, she went on pretty easily. Now we will see if it makes Ol' Yeller's front end any stiffer.
PIC.....

The Monte Carlo bar was designed for the 65-66 Mustangs, so it just bolts onto one of the top apron bolts, and two of the side ones on each side. If you want to finish the top off with two bolts, then one hole has to be drilled and one bolt added. I will do that tomorrow. If you don't have an MC on your vert, you might want to consider it. It is really not the nightmare to put on as I have read that it was. See pic.

looks good soaring, where did you end up getting that from? I like the choice of straight MC for the stock stangers, it looks good. Its always a good feeling to that after 40+ years, all it takes to get the thing in there is a little rubber mallet coaxing. That means stuff hasn't been tweakin on you

I got it from Texas Mustang. Yeah, I was all ready to jack up the car and let the suspension relax for a few days, then still have to coax it on. But, to my surprise, she went on fairly easily. Everybody should own a big rubber mallet.

Not at all. I thought the same thing before installing it, but all I have to do is remove the air cleaner, and the dizzy cap pops right off and clears the MC bar easily. Yeah, I have heard about the removable MC bar for that reason, but I really don't see a need for it on a 65-66 which is what the MC bar was designed for.
