Default Paint???

Any painters out there?
I'm just about ready for paint , the question is with all of todays choices do I go back with stock type paint (enamel?) or base coat clear coat. Its a 69Mach P5 paint code, so if I do the base coat clear coat will the flat black hood become shiny? But I dont like the seam between the black and color when the tape comes off. I got a good painter lined up but he wants to do BCCC and I have come to realize he is somewhat of a BS artist, so what your guess?

Id paint it for ya--If I lived there, or you lived here--and ofcourse, if my shop was up and running---see if you can check out some of his work, or anyones for that matter. Either finish on that car can be done right to look how you want--it really comes down to personal preference.

Enamel is super tough, and always buffs up with a clean shine. BC CC, when done right, always has a KILLER High Gloss to it. Any Q's feel free to drop a line--good luck with the paint choice--post pics when its done!!

BASE COAT CLEAR COAT!!! enamel is old news and sucks horribly...my dad has been in the body shop businnes his whole life and i hang around there all the time and ive picked up a few bits of info over the years... they have different clear coats.. so your hood can still be flat black so that answers your question... also when you go to get it done tell the painter that you dont want any orange peel at all... oh if your painter pulls up tape and there is a line then he is not the painter for your car... when done right there is no line... its all about the amount of paint that he puts on it and you can wetsand paint lines most of the time anyway

BCCC I guess, I was just worried about the flat black becoming shiny black. I have seen his work and it looks fantastic, I just hate being Bull s****ed into something I dont want, and along with all else, he is a huge BS artist. Thanks

Ps, about the posting pictures thing, dont know about that...........I could probably rebuild a 427SOHC with nothing but a swiss army knife faster than I could learn to work this computer any better than I'm doing now, kinda the old dog , new trick thing.
