What are the dimensions of a 65 coupe's engine bay

pretty big i guess i mean there is alot of clearance the only thing im having problems with its making the headers clear the strut towerand the oil pan fit(95 5.0 motor)

The main problem with the 65, is that the shock towers angle toward the middle of the engine bay, and the bottom of the shock towers is only about 2 feet wide. That is why a lot of engine options will not fit, and especially if you also want to add headers. Front to rear is a tad better in that it is approximately 3 feet from firewall to radiator.

FYI, the 67 and up underhood space is changed quite a bit from the early cars. You can fit an FE (352,390,427,428) in them with relative ease. not so with the 64-66. largest engine that will fit easily is the 351W. You can make changes and get a larger engine to fit, but that means $$$$$$.
