Take the crossmember off, then just drop it straight down. I replaced my pan a year or so ago, and that is all I had to do.

Did the auto tranny thing the first time I did a car on a lift. I had never done an auto tranny fluid/filter change and I didnt' know they are pulled full. I was standing directly underneath it when it gave way [&:]

I believe you can get the oil pan out by removing the sway bar (pretty sure I got that from the service manual). Might be a better route so that you are not removing a structural member.

The anti-sway bar is in front of the pan, and is not in the way. The crossmember bar is definitely in the way, and only requires the removal of two bolts. Oh, the starter has to come out too. Check the pic.

Like I said, I replaced it last year, but didn't get around to painting it black. Now that you have embarrassed me, I will get under there tomorrow and paint it black. That is, after I get through with all my honey-do's. I just finished putting in my winter garden too. We have deer right here on the golf course where I live, and I had to erect an 6' fence to go around the garden. Well, I am a cheap bastard, and the empty lot next to my home is mine too, and it has tons of cedar trees growing on it. Well, I took my trusty chain saw out and cut down several of these small cedar trees to make fence posts, Well that took almost all day yesterday, and today it took me several hours to string the wire around the garden where the cedar posts have been cemented into the holes that I had to dig with my trusty post hole diggers. Oh, I also had to build a gate so I could get into the new garden plot. Phew! Although I am now retired, I have more to do than when I was working. Oh., yeah.......black oil pan tomorrow.
